InfoSonics has recently announced a new touchscreen phone for the Latin America market. Dubbed as the Verykool i270, the handset offers a 2.4-inch QVGA touchscreen display, a 2MP camera, a microSD card slot, a music player, a web browser, email, a speakerphone, a 3.5mm headset jack, Bluetooth and supports quad-band GSM/GPRS connectivity. Motorola CLIQ users who update their handset with the firmware ver. 1.3.18 have reported some serious problems. After they reboot their handset, it has the wrong system time and cannot be changed. Some users who experienced this problem were told to perform a master reset of their phone, but it actually made the problem worse. The system time remains 1969 after a reset and prevents users from logging into Motoblur and activating their device. According to the T-mobile forums, it looks like the system timestamp is set to 0 after the update is installed (and "0″ in the UNIX time­stamp format is equal to December 31, 1969 at 7:00 P.M in the Gregorian cal­endar format). The Almighty FCC has finally approved the CDMA HTC-made smartphone with the model name PB99300. This CDMA version of the Nexus One should be launched via Verizon soon via Google’s online store, just like the Nexus One for T-Mobile. Additionally, Verizon should also launch the HTC Incredible Android 2.1-powered smartphone in the near future. No word on pricing at this time. [UnWiredView]

The box art of Super Mario Galaxy 2 has been unveiled. The gameplay will be similar to the first Super Mario Galaxy, with a focus on platforming based on and around 3D planets with varying sizes and landscapes. Square Enix has recently announced the release date for the Just Cause 2 demo. This much awaited demo will hit Xbox Live, PSN and Steam starting on March 4th (next week), while the full version of the game will be out on March 26th. [VG247]

Motherboard manufacturer Gigabyte has unveiled a spanking new tablet netbook namely the Gigabyte T1000. The new model features a 10.1-inch 1,366 x 768 HD touchscreen display, a choice of Intel Atom N450 or N470 processor, a 1GB RAM, a 250GB hard drive, Microsoft Windows 7 Starter Edition, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity and a 1.3-megapixel camera. German-based PC maker Smartbook AG is set to showcase their latest laptop ‘Smartbook Logo’ at the upcoming CeBIT 2010. This ultra-portable system features an 11.6-inch 1366 x 768 display, a Core 2 Duo ULV processor, a 1GB RAM, a 250GB hard drive, a 3G UMTS modem, an 8-hour battery and runs on Windows 7 Home Premium OS. Mamiya has recently introduced the Sekor AF 55mm F2.8 LS D lens that is designed for use with the 645DF. This wide-angle features a lens shutter and provides an angle of view of 65 degrees, which is the equivalent to a 34mm lens in the 35mm format. In addition, Mamiya has also announced three separate digital back adapters to connect the M series digital back (M18, M22 or M31) to the RB67, RZ67Pro/ProII and 4×5 cameras. Sanyo comes back with three new point-and-shoot cameras in the form of the X1420, X1220 and S122. The X1420 is the top of the line model, it sports a 14-megapixel image sensor, a 28mm wide-angle lens, a 4x optical zoom lens, a 3-inch LCD monitor, SDXC card support and 720p HD video recording at 30fps. Meanwhile, the X1220 and S122 offer the same 12-megapixel image sensor, a 3x optical zoom lens, a 2.7-inch LCD display and VGA video recording. The only difference between the two cameras is that the X1220 is powered by a lithium-ion battery, while the S122 gets its power from AA batteries. The X1420, X1220 and S122 will become available in Spring for 149 Euro (about $203), 129 Euro (about $176) and 99 Euro (about $135), respectively.

FCC has unveiled the specs of LG T280 11.6-inch notebook. The FCC documents include a user manual, which describes a laptop with either an Intel Pentium or Core o Duo processor, up to 2GB of RAM, a 2.5-inch hard drive, Bluetooth 2.1, a 1.3MP webcam, WiFi, and an optional 3G HSPA mobile broadband. MetroPCS has recently launched its first touchscreen from Samsung known as the Caliber R860. Specs-wise, the handset is equipped with a 3.2-inch WQVGA touchscreen display, a 3MP camera with flash, Samsung’s TouchWiz UI, a microSD card slot (up to 16GB), a full HTML web browser, GPS with MetroNavigator, email, social networking integration (Facebook, MySpace), Bluetooth, a 1080 mAh battery and supports CDMA (1×800/1900 MHz) connectivity. Nokia has started to produce the Nokia N97 Mini Gold Edition that comes covered with 18 carat gold.
